Try this analogy: An advocacy organization is like when you and your friends speak up together to get a new rule added to a game you all play.
Ask your child: What cause is important enough for you to speak up for?
Common mix-up: Kids might think these groups are just charities that give help. Advocacy organizations also work to change the rules and laws to solve problems for everyone.
