associative property

Definition

The associative property means that when you're adding or multiplying numbers, you can group them differently without changing the final answer. For example, (2 + 3) + 4 is the same as 2 + (3 + 4).

associative property is a term used in Ontario’s Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum.
