A consumer contract is simply an agreement you make when you buy something or pay for a service from a business.
Signing up for a phone plan that costs $40 per month for 20 GB of data is a consumer contract.

Ask your child: What 'rules' do you agree to when you sign up for a new app or game?
Common mix-up: Many people think a contract is always a long paper document you sign. Clicking 'I agree' to an app's terms of service or starting a subscription is also a consumer contract.
