A fact family is a group of math problems that use the same three numbers and show how they relate through addition and subtraction (or multiplication and division). For example, 2, 3, and 5 make up a fact family because 2+3=5, 3+2=5, 5-2=3, and 5-3=2.
fact family is a term used in Ontario’s Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum.
