A graph is a picture that uses lines, bars, or other symbols to show how different pieces of information relate to each other. It helps us easily see patterns or changes in numbers.
A picture graph that uses a drawing of a sun for each sunny day is a graph.
How to teach this in 30 seconds
Try this analogy: A graph is like making piles of your different coloured blocks to see which pile is tallest.
Ask your child: How could we make a picture to show our favorite snacks?
