risk factors

Definition

Risk factors are things that make it more likely for a child to experience mental health challenges, like growing up in poverty or having parents who struggle with mental illness. The more of these factors a child faces, the harder it can be for them.

risk factors is a term used in Ontario’s Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum.
