Perspective is how someone sees or thinks about something, which can be different for everyone.
One child's perspective is that a rainy day is sad, while another's is that it's fun for splashing in puddles.
How to teach this in 30 seconds
Try this analogy: Perspective is like how a room looks different when you're standing up versus when you're lying on the floor.
Ask your child: If you lie on the floor, how does the room look different?
Common mix-up: Kids may think there is only one right way to see something. Perspective means understanding that different people can see or feel differently about the same thing.

- From your perspective, a big dog might seem friendly, but from your friend's perspective, it might seem scary.
- Looking down at a toy from a chair gives a different perspective than looking at it from the floor.
