smudge

Definition

Smudging is a spiritual practice, often used by First Nations people, where smoke from burning special plants is used to cleanse a person or place, say prayers, and start the day with a good feeling.

smudge is a term used in Ontario’s Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum.
