An angle is the space or opening created when two lines meet at a point.
The corner of a piece of paper is an angle where two sides meet.
How to teach this in 30 seconds
Try this analogy: An angle is like the corner you make when you bend your elbow or the space between the open blades of a pair of scissors.
Ask your child: Where can you find an angle in this room?
Common mix-up: Kids may think that longer lines make a bigger angle. The size of an angle is measured by the opening between the lines, not their length.
