Indigenous ecological knowledge is the wisdom and understanding Indigenous peoples have gained over many generations about how the natural world works, focusing on living in balance with the environment and protecting it for the future.
Indigenous ecological knowledge (IEK) is a term used in Ontario’s Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum.
