How to teach this in 30 seconds
Try this analogy: Individual activities are like everyone getting their own skipping rope at recess; you're all active together, but you're not competing in a game.
Ask your child: What's something active you like to do that isn't a team game?
Common mix-up: Kids might think 'individual' means you have to be all alone. The key is that you are doing your own activity, but you can still be with friends, like dancing in a group.

- Riding a scooter or bicycle around a track by yourself.
