Your child will learn to recognize and handle their own feelings while participating in health and physical education activities. This will help them express themselves better and understand how others are feeling.

Your child will learn to recognize what causes them stress and how to deal with challenges, including knowing when and how to ask for help. This will help them build resilience, which is their ability to bounce back from tough situations.
- A1.3 Positive Motivation and Perseverance
Your child will learn to develop a positive attitude and keep trying even when things are difficult in physical education. This includes understanding how to set fitness goals based on their strengths, trying new things, and looking at disappointing events in a more positive way.
- A1.4 Healthy Relationships

Your child will understand what makes physical activity fun for them, whether it's changing games to include everyone, trying new activities, or having clean and inviting places to play.

Your child will learn about the different things that can make it easier or harder for people to be active, like if they enjoy it or have friends to play with. They will also think about how to get around problems that stop them from being active, such as not having enough time or a place to go.

- B2.1 Physical Fitness
Your child will be able to participate in at least 20 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day, which means activity that makes their heart beat faster and makes them breathe a little harder. They will also learn to properly warm up their bodies before activity and cool down afterwards.

Your child will learn about the different parts of being fit and healthy, like having a strong heart and lungs (cardiorespiratory endurance), strong muscles, and being flexible. They will also understand why it's good to develop and keep up with each of these for a healthy life.

C. Movement Competence: Skills, Concepts, and Strategies 8 expectations
Your child will be able to do different movements and understand the basic ideas behind them, using these ideas in various physical activities.

Your child will be able to shift their weight smoothly in different situations, whether standing still (static balance) or moving (dynamic balance). They will learn to control their speed and body position, with or without equipment, while doing activities like rolling, jumping, or skipping.
- C1.2 Stability
Your child will be able to jump in different ways, like jumping high or far, while staying in control of their body. They will also learn to land safely and smoothly.
- C1.3 Locomotion
Your child will be able to try out different ways of moving their body, like running, jumping, or skipping (these are called locomotor movements). They will do this alone or with others, sometimes using equipment, and will practice moving at different speeds, levels, and in various directions.
- C1.4 Manipulation
Your child will be able to send and catch objects using different parts of their body and various tools, changing how fast they move based on what they are doing. They will also understand how basic movement rules apply, for example, how to kick a ball with the right amount of force to reach a target.
- C1.5 Manipulation
Your child will be able to control objects, like a ball or a puck, while moving around other people and equipment, even when changing direction or slowing down. This includes using tools like a scoop or a hockey stick to help them.
Your child will be able to use different movement strategies, like dodging or passing, in various physical activities. This will help them understand how to play these activities better and improve their skills.

Your child will understand the different parts of physical activities, like the movements involved, how games are set up, and the rules, including how to play fairly and show good sportsmanship. They will use this understanding when they participate in various activities, such as modified sports, fun recreational games, fitness exercises, and different types of dance.

Your child will be able to describe common features of different types of physical activities, like individual sports or net/wall games (e.g., volleyball), and explain strategies that worked well for them in these activities.

Your child will learn to identify trusted adults and support services, like Kids Help Phone or 9-1-1, who can help them with various issues such as bullying, emergencies, or when they are feeling upset.
- D1.2 Substance Use, Addictions, and Related Behaviours
Your child will learn about the immediate and lasting impacts of drinking alcohol. They will also understand what makes someone feel the effects of alcohol more or less, like how much they drink, how quickly they drink it, their body size, or if they've mixed it with other things like cannabis or energy drinks.
- D1.3 Human Development and Sexual Health
Your child will learn about the different parts of the body involved in reproduction and understand how their body changes as they grow into an adult.
- D1.4 Human Development and Sexual Health
Your child will learn about menstruation (a girl's monthly period) and spermatogenesis (how a boy's body makes sperm), and how these processes are important for reproduction and overall development.

Your child will learn about the emotional and social changes that come with puberty, like having crushes or adjusting to new relationships. They will also learn how to recognize signs of mental health concerns and practice ways to handle stress, build resilience (the ability to bounce back from tough times), and keep open communication with family and trusted adults.
