A round is a song where everyone sings the same tune, but they start singing at different times, creating layers of sound, like in "Row, Row, Row Your Boat.
Rounding the number 18 to the nearest ten gives you 20, because 18 is closer to 20 than it is to 10.
How to teach this in 30 seconds
Try this analogy: Rounding is like finding the closest 'home base' in a game — you run to the nearest ten.
Ask your child: Is the number 12 closer to 10 or 20?
