They will also learn to write these numbers in different ways, including using "expanded form" (breaking a number down by the value of each digit, like 300 + 20 + 5 for 325) and "powers of ten" (like 10 to the power of 2 for 100). They will also learn how these large numbers are used in everyday life.
- B1.2 Rational Numbers
Your child will learn what a perfect square is (for example, 9 is a perfect square because 3 x 3 = 9) and how to find its square root (the number that was multiplied by itself, like 3 in the example).

Your child will be able to work with different kinds of numbers, including fractions and decimals up to three decimal places, and understand how to put them in order from smallest to largest, even when they are positive or negative. Your child will be able to describe and sort 3D shapes like cylinders, pyramids, and prisms by looking at their features, including if they can be cut in half symmetrically (plane symmetry) or if they look the same after being turned (rotational symmetry).

Your child will be able to draw an object or room from different angles, like from the top, front, or side, and also draw it in perspective, which means making it look three-dimensional on paper. They will use the correct scale so the drawing accurately represents the real size of the object or space.
